BREAKING NEWS

Several Chapter Events are happening soon:

Chapter 1919's big event of the year is approaching. RSVP to attend George Washington's Birthday Party on Friday February 26 at the Austin Club.

Ladies and Gents,

I am so very excited to inform everyone that General George Washington HIMSELF will be attending our celebration of his birthday and the creation of the Purple Heart! He will be actively involved in our program, including saying our opening prayer (an original prayer taken from one of General Washington’s journals). He will be presenting our Chapter a handmade replica of the “Badge of Military Merit”, which he will also be telling us how it came to be created.

Our guest speaker for the evening will be Colonel Hope Rampy, Fellow from UT, ROTC detailed there by the Army War College. The Colonel is working on having the ROTC present the Colors, and we will also have the gents from “Sons of the American Revolution” to post and salute as well.

Julia Cruz Magness will be singing, not only our National Anthem, but will also be singing some great older jazz tunes like "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and other favorites from the 1940’s. She will be accompanied by her Keyboard and Trumpet players.

We have a photographer coming to capture the entire night’s celebration. Who wouldn’t want to come and meet General Washington….and have your picture made with him! There will also be a photo booth there for you to play with, and some fantastic chocolate creations from “Quintessential Chocolates” out of Fredericksburg. Awards and recognition will happen, all and all it will be a good evening of friends (new and old), fellowship, camaraderie, and great food!

Remember to RSVP that you will attend George Washington's Birthday Party on Friday February 26 at the Austin Club. This year is sure to be the biggest and best dinner yet!

Respectfully,

Scott C. Garrett

Commander

Texas Capital Chapter 1919, Military Order of the Purple Heart, takes the lead with projects, in addition to our permanent Purple Santa Program, that are supportive of America’s currently deployed military, veterans of all wars, veterans’ families, and community youth sports; and acts in concert with other organizations that share these worthy objectives.  Projects are limited in scope only by the resources available and donations are always welcome.  Chapter 1919 pledges to apply 100 percent of contributions received to the project designated.
