BOOSTER Contributions

Combat wounded veterans of Texas Capital Chapter 1919, in Austin, Texas undertake many worthy projects for the benefit of disabled veterans, for other veterans and their families, and for the greater community of which we are a part.  See the “mission statement” and “Purple Santa” entries of this website for details

Membership dues provide only a small fraction of the funds needed each year to support this ambitious program.  Instead, we rely upon donations from those among our members who have the financial ability and the will to push our work forward.  We also welcome contributions from any other individuals, from other organizations, and from businesses and corporate sponsors.  Upon request, contributions will be applied to a specific need such as veterans support (VAVS), veterans scholarships (ACC endowment), or community support (Operation Purple Santa) projects, but we prefer them to be undesignated.

Donations are welcome at any time, by check payable to: “Chapter 1919, MOPH”, and designated for “boosters”, mail to Milton Carr, Adjutant, Chapter 1919, Military Order of the Purple Heart, 5114 Balcones Woods Dr., Suite 307 #175, Austin, Texas 78759-5212. Call (512) 343-7940, Milt Carr, Adjutant for any questions or use our information request form from the home page.

Chapter 1919 is incorporated in the state of Texas as a tax-exempt, non-profit veterans group operating as an IRC 501 (c) (19) organization.  When the donor requests, a certificate will be provided for donations made to Chapter 1919.  At any given time we have about 50 individuals; our volunteers, project chairmen, and chapter officers that are busy on these projects, devoting anywhere from an hour or two, up to near full-time work at various tasks.  None of these individuals receive pay, financial incentives, or reimbursement of personal expenses (gas money, phone calls, postage, etc.) incurred while so serving.  Officers operate from their homes; the chapter itself does not rent or own  property or office equipment, and has negligible administrative costs.

We are proud of our “Boosters” and you can see who they are on page 13 of our currently displayed newsletter.  We especially want you to know about the businesses and corporations.  We are most grateful to them and happily promote public recognition of their support for our veterans programs.

 Please support them.
