HONOR FLIGHT AUSTIN
…benefits specifically for…
PURPLE
HEART RECIPIENTS
Chapter 1919 is working with others to develop a transportation hub here in
Austin to operate as “HONOR FLIGHT AUSTIN,”.
This project is part of a nationwide effort to honor Veterans and
provide them with a trip to Washington D.C, and an opportunity to visit
their memorial. Presently, the
goal of the project is to honor Veterans of World War II and host their
visit to the memorial that opened there recently and to show these Veterans
that our Nation honors their service while they are still able to make the
visit.
Honor Flight Austin just completed their first
flight in June 2012, which was highly successful. They flew 25 WWII
Veterans to Washington, D. C., to visit their Memorial. All was completed
at NO COST to the Veteran. The next flight is scheduled for Tuesday,
October 9, 2012, and will take 50 WWII Veterans to visit their National WWII
Memorial. Please visit the web-site:
www.honorflightaustin.org and complete the application if you are eligible.
Also, if you are NOT a WWII Veteran and would like to Honor our WWII
Veterans, please make a donation to ensure this project remains funded.
Donations may be made directly to Honor Flight Austin, or through MOPH
Chapter 1919. Be sure to designate "Honor Flight Austin" on your check.
Chapter 1919 is now accepting donations to assist Central Texas WWII and
other Veterans with serious illnesses to fly to Washington, D.C. to view
their respective War Memorials; at NO COST to the Veteran.
Donations should be made out to
"Honor Flight Austin" and mailed to:
